I was recently fortunate for the opportunity to co-curate a film season for the Showroom Cinema, Sheffield, celebrating 70 years since the release of the original Godzilla film in 1954.
The season commenced on July 5th with Godzilla (1954) introduced by Dr Diane Rodgers. We screened Mothra (1961) the following weekend introduced by Dr Craig Ian Mann, Destroy All Monsters (1968) played from 19th - 21st, and this weekend we have three screenings of Shin Godzilla (2016). On Saturday 27th, co-curator Andy Graves and I are hosting a Giant Monster All-Out After Party at the venue with Godzilla themed cocktails and classic kaiju-themed videogames.
We will also be launching our Kaijuly zine which features work from us both, reviews, essays, and an original story.
